Khirai, West Bengal (Dec 2025)
03-January-2026I decided to have the last bike ride of 2025 on 31st Dec 2025 and rode to Khirai, Panskura in West Bengal. The location is conveniently placed around 100 kms from where I stay.
I went there pretty early in the morning to beat the traffic.

That particular day was one of the coldest of the season. When I reached Khirai, the ambient temperature was 10 deg. In fact, on the next day when I visited, not only was it cold but visibility too was poor due to fog. I had to wait for some time for the fog to clear so that I can click clear photographs.
The Khirai flower garden is located just below a Railway Bridge and this is one of the busiest rail routes. You will see a train pass by every 5 minutes or so.
Due to the large numb er of visitors coming here in the winter months, the local farmers have converted this particular location into a carnival sort of place with many temporary make-shift stalls set up there. These stalls sell the usual fast-food items.
