This is a great place for a one-day visit in the months of December, January or February. Panskura is located around 100 kilometres from Kolkata and other than the last 10 kilometres, the entire route is on good 4-lane highway(busy though).
One can also take the train to reach the flower valley. Instead of getting down at Khirai, one should get down at Panskura Station and hire a Toto (e-rickshaw) to reach the flower gardens.
We visited Khirai in February 2020, just a few weeks before the lockdown. I and my colleagues from the IT team of Spencer’s Retail visited the flower valley.
One can buy plants and flowers in case you want to. Both sides of the railway track and the beds of the river Kansabati (also called Kasai) are full of colourful flowers.
