Everyone does it. Procrastination means putting off the important activities which your are supposed to do. Any task which is important and needs to be done, but your mind convinces you to put it doing it to a later date is called Procrastination. Its not laziness.
We are generally aware about this. We know that we should not put it off and yet we do it. That is what makes us feel bad when we procrastinate. It has nothing to do with laziness or time-management. Rather its psychological. We associate certain negative thoughts and notions about the task which we know we have to do but we don’t.
The best way to get out of this loop is to associate the task with something which our minds are more inclined to and then get it done. In theoretical terms this is called BBO or ‘Bigger & Better Offer’…relative to the gratification of not doing the task. If there is a reward which is expected for doing the task and its better than the reward which our brain feels for not doing it then we can come out of the vicious cycle of procrastination.
