This was supposed to be a Port Town in the early days of British India in Mid 1800s. And the project was driven by Charles Canning ( he went on to become Governer General of British India).

This is situated on the banks of river Matla. And its misunderstood to be the residence of Charles Canning. Its very unlikely that he ever stayed here.
Today its lying in ruins and might crumble anytime. But the ruins indicate that the building was magnificent once.
